What is this mystery device under my top hose? I can't find it in the epc and it's not something I recognise. I got out of the car the other day and could smell the indication some hot, errant coolant. Had a bit of a poke around and felt a bit of wetness from the top part of this mystery thing. Coolant level is ever so slightly down so, not a major, however, would like to know at least what the little devil is.

 

It's the auxiliary Hester pump. There is a big o ring between the 2 halves of the top plastic bit.

 

I know someone called Hester, she's leaking cerebral fluid though

Is this a serviceable unit? I suppose I could yank it out when I do the sway bar bushes, which has been taking a tiki tour around the USA for the last few weeks going by the tracking.
