Default Navigation disk.

I brought a upgrade Nav CD. for my 2004 XJR.. But it might not have been, the right one. It worked a few times, then came up with "this is not a navigation disk'' So put the old one back in. Now it takes fifteen minutes to read disk.
Any clue why.??

I'll take a stab at it though the XJR is not my car.....

The product code on the NAVTEQ disc will have a 2 letter shred. The latest is "BH". As I recall, the BH version had a loader that also updated the system firmware if it needed it. What is the product code shred on your disc?

From all this I can construct a scenario whereby you had a bad disc, then loaded the old disc with a disconnect between versions of the software.

No bad disk, just wanted to upgrade, worked fine for a few days, then came up with, the above message. so put the old disk in, which was fine when I took it out. But it takes 15 to 20 minutes to read disk. I am usually there by this time. Just don't want to ask the local Jaguar dealer, as he also sells Bulls, well he charges like one.

First of all, what is the 2 letter code after the product code on your discs? Until we know that, we can't help much.

Did you buy the upgrade from the factory supplier (NAVTEQ) or did you buy it from another source like eBay? Is it a factory labeled disc or is it just a copy? A copy of the disc is probably not going to work as there is a special copying routine that must be used.

My backup copy works fine (to keep the original scratch free and safe!) of my Nav disc.
Nero Express which was free on my PC when I bought it, a GB£0.75 DL disc, and its sorted!
