Just purchased an excellent 04, xj8 with 36,000 miles.
No owners manual but have one ordered.
How do you adjust headrests? Can't move manually and don't see a switch.
What manuals are available as free downloads?
Thanks for your reply,
Smokegrinder

On my Super V8 the headrest is controlled by moving the power seatback control up and down, hopefully yours works the same way.....my 12 yr old figured it out for me while I was prying at it with a plastic CD case

Was just wondering when Jaguar starts the new car "production year"? Reason I'm asking, I just bought an '04 XJ8, but on the driver's side door post the date of manufacture is 06/03. I know U.S. cars start the new production year sometime in the fall, but this seems a bit too early.
Either way, I love this car. Just got it this past Saturday. One previous owner, just a handful of miles under 70K. Very clean. I've been wanting an XJ8 for about two years, and I've admired Jags since I saw one when I was stationed in Italy in the '80s.
Anyway, just curious about the production year thing...
Edit: I apologize for hijacking this thread. I thought I was "up a level"...

A lot of car companies when they introduce new models, like the X350 (04 and up XJ8) will introduce them in the spring or summer of the previous year..
I have purchased many new vehicles that were a year ahead of when I bought them.. ie.. I purchased a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee in March of 2003. I think that is about as early as I can remember one being out of sync with the year. Look at the 2010 Chevy Camaro.. it came out last month and last I checked its still 2009.

My VDP has an '03 production date also. Nice car overall. Had to replace torque converter.
Does you car include NAV? You'll want the owner's manual for that and all less than obvious features the Jag has too.

No, no NAV. But, I did find all the manuals in .pdf on the Jaguar website.
