I currently have a X308 XJR and I'll be looking at some XJRs, LWB Supers and a LWB 4.2 and have to decide between power, toys and price (LWB Super is preferred choice but 50% dearer than the others).
I know the difference between X350 and X358, but the changes in X350 model years are perplexing me.

There's a facelift X350, no rubbing strips and oval side indicators, but I've heard mention of a mid-way MY2003.5 version, but know not how they changed from the 1st iteration.

Also any clues as to the upgradability of the sat-nav system would be nice. I have a nice double-DIN screen, single DIN chassis, all singing, dancing Alpine navigation unit in my X308, but think a swap would be fraught with difficulty as the climate controls are built into the Jaguar sat-nav screen in the X350s I've seen.

(Best plan is replace radio/CD/tape with my modern unit and sat-nav climate module with dedicated climate unit, anyone done this?)

The in-built screen controls Climate, as well as system settings like daytime running lights, mirrors, unlock, nav units, language etc.
The audio also controls the 6-CD changer in the boot. Only some of the Audio or Climate is available with surrounding buttons.

Sooo...Good Luck!

Would you consider a strap off one of those headlamps...you know...to strap an iPad to your head?

A novel approach to be sure, but it would have to be a heavy duty strap to carry the leather-bound motorist's atlas too.

Anyhoo the XJR has landed and found itself playing car park doubles during a visit to my local supermarket.
