No turn by turn voice on my 2004 xj8 nav sys

Hey guys...why is there no voice on my nav sys? everything works great except there is no voice. why Is that? Thanks guys!

You need to turn the voice on? And, check that you have the correct state/country selected.

With the European maps if you have another country selected the voice guidance doesn't work, i'd guess that it would be similar with the North American maps.

As cambo stated, there is a menu option that either turns the nav voice on or off. If you haven't gotten a manual for your audio and nav, you should downlaod and print one out. try here -> TOPIx - TOPIx

failing all of that checking out next thing i would say is to go in the trunk and check the fiber cables at the back of the unit. My fathers s type had the same problem everything else in the link would work eg the cdc. but after i pulled the carpet trim out the way and had a check it appeared the rear dvd wire was pushing on the wire for the sat nav unpluged it pushed it back in to the connector and way hay there you go.
