I'm trying to find the obd2 port location on a 2007 xj8 Vandenplas. Would someone lead me in the right direction.

I've looked under the left and right side of the dash. I have removed the cover under the steering wheel and looked inside. I looked under the hood and in the trunk. Also, in the glove box and center console. I looked in the manual. I know it's in an easy to find location. Right?

Any help will be appreciated.

By the obd specification it must be within 1m of the driver. On my vehicle it is through a hole above the right foot near the center console.

In my 2005 XJR it is at the bottom of the narrow trim that contains the ignition at the top. It is underneath the bottom edge. Its easy to feel but not easy to see.

Same for me but opposite sides on a RHD car....

Not easy to spot immediately, but a clsoer inspection and there it is.

Right under ignition switch - probably will have a cover over the OBD2 port..

Maybe a picture would help for the USA XJ8.

The first picture it would be in the very right lower corner at the end of the dove color trim and in the second picture you can see the OBDII port. You really have to get your head down into the floor area and look staight up to see it.

It took me about 10 minutes to find it the first time and even knowing where it is it is not the easy to plug into. I had to show the DMV inspector where it was.

Just below the key switch behind the valance in the corner next to the console. The port is facing down with the shorter of the long sides of the connector facing aft

Excellent. Thank you for the pictures lcmjaguar. Worth a 1,000 words, right? That's exactly where Don B. said it was. Again, thanks for your help. Dan Veenstra
