Ok to glue wood trim in place?
I have my first Jag, a 2004 XJ8 Vanden Plas. The front piece wood trim on the sun roof switch was in the armrest console. The piece is slightly sticky, but the switch surface is clean. This leads me to believe that it snapped in somehow. It will not snap back in. I'm in Houston and car interiors get pretty hot here.
Is it ok to go ahead and glue it in place or would I be corrupting the purity of my car in a way I will later regret? //smile
Thanks!

I have an '06 VP with the same trim piece starting to pull away on each side and I'm going to try to use some kind of high strength epoxy on it when i get a chance.
It seems as though the wood trim piece is flat... while the plastic it should be attached to has some curvature to it. Brilliant! So after all these years the factory adhesive is working loose because the flat trim wants to be, uh flat. I'll post an update on the outcome.
