Control Fan Functionality Check Malfunction.

I understand the words, but what do I do to diagnose the underlying issue?

It may be unrelated, but I often get a P0420 Catalyst efficiency below threshold Bank 1 error code especially after lots of short trips. I just erase the code and the MIL stays off for a month or two. This time I also got pending codes:

P0174 and P0171 System too lean codes for Banks 1 & 2

I have reset the MIL, but of course these codes came today just as we are about to embark on two weeks of visiting all the offspring scattered throughout England!

 

Don't reset - fix. There are a ton of posts about some of those codes showing how.
