Default Parking brake does not work

Hello.
I have a 2007 XJR. The parking brake does not work at all. The message center will display two messages: Press the brake to apply the parking brake, and Parking brake not applied.
I have tried several things to solve this problem. The EBP module has been replaced. The EBP switch was also checked for operation, but the situation did not change. I also checked the fuses.
The diagnostic machine picks up the code C1D1464 Ignition Status. The Jaguar workshop manual only says to refer to the electrical schematic. I do not have the electrical schematic for the X350.
If you know anything about this, please help me.

Do you hear the motor run when you hold the brake pedal down and pull up on the parking brake?

No, it doesn't react at all.

I had this once and it drove me nuts. One thing to try is to disconnect your battery for a bit (10-30 seconds ... someone will correct me as it's been awhile for me since I've had to do this) and then reconnect and see if this resolves the issue. I was having the initial issue because the battery had gone dead. After charging it, the issue had started.

A second thing to try is - while the car is running, press the break and hold it, then pull up on the parking break and hold that for at least 5 seconds. If the message goes away, then the parking break is reset. Again, someone should correct me if I got the time wrong (again, it's been quite some time since I've had to do this).

When you replaced the EPB was it calibrated? You can try resetting it:

Reset the EPB module:

1. Switch off the ignition
2. Disconnect the battery for 30 seconds.
3. Reconnect the battery.
4. Start the engine.
5. Firmly apply and release the footbrake five times.
6. Confirm that the message ‘NOT CALIBRATED’ or ‘APPLY FOOT AND PARKBRAKE’ is displayed on the instrument cluster message center.
7. Lightly press the footbrake pedal.
8. Apply the parking brake by using the EPB switch.
9. Release the parking brake.
10. Release the footbrake.
11. Confirm that the brake warning lamp is no longer illuminated and that the ‘NOT CALIBRATED’ message is no longer displayed in the message center.
12. Apply and release the EPB five times to ensure no error is present.

The ignition code could be from low battery voltage which also will affect the EPB.

Here is the electrical diagram: http://www.jagrepair.com/images/Elec...al%20Guide.pdf

I've tried both methods in the past, but the situation hasn't changed. How many times do you reconnect the battery?
To reset the EPB, I stepped on the brake pedal five times and then pulled the parking brake, which did not respond to anything.

I installed an EPB module that is the same shape but has a different alphabet at the end of the model number. (For example, the ones with B or H written in large letters.) Is this a problem?
If you have any other tips, please let me know.

When you disconnect the neg. battery cable it only needs to stay off for at least 30 secs. Then you connect it back, start the engine and pump the brakes firmly five times. You should then see the message “NOT CALIBRATED” or “APPLY FOOT AND PARK BRAKE”. Then lightly press the brake pedal and while holding the brake pedal down, apply the parking brake using the EPB switch. Then release the EPB switch and release the brake pedal. The message should now be cleared and EPB reset.

If you are not seeing the message after reconnecting the battery then there may be a problem with the module, harness, motor or fuse. You can check the fuse, and you should be able to hot wire the parking brake motor by pulling off the connection at the motor and using a 9v battery with a pigtail to activate the motor and cables.

I believe the control module ending in BH is for 05-08 and BB is for for 2003-2005.

APPLY FOOT AND PARK BRAKE is displayed in the message center, but the parking brake is not applied. The fuse, module and motor have been replaced and confirmed. There are too many harnesses to confirm.
The parking brake works when power is applied directly from the battery to the terminals connected to the motor.

As for the model number of the EPB module, it seems that there are other types besides the two, such as BJ and BG. Is it OK to install different ones for these?

I am waiting for your answer.

Thank you.

APPLY FOOT AND PARK BRAKE is displayed in the message center, but the parking brake is not applied .The EBP module, fuse and motor have been replaced and checked. I haven't checked the harnesses because there are too many of them. I can confirm that the motor works by plugging it into the connector directly from the battery.

The model number of the EBP module seems to be not only BH and BB, but also BG and BJ. Is there any problem if these are different?

As far as modules go C2C39403, C2C36124, C2C30727 XR851911 4R83-2c496-BG, 4R83-2C496-BE 4R83-2C496-BH 4R83-2C496-BF work with XJR 2005-2008.

However the ignition error is telling you the voltage to module is not there. Either the battery is not fully charged, there is a short somewhere in the module harness or module is bad.

Try turning the key to the accessory position - DO NOT START CAR - while pressing on the brake pedal release the park brake. Now start car and see if there is still a brake fault message. If not you need to get your battery checked or replaced.

If you still have a fault message start the car and while it's running remove the module harness for at least one minute. Then plugin the harness and check the dash. It should give you the "Apply Park Brake to Calibrate" message. If so, hold brake pedal down and apply park break - then with pedal still down release park break to clear message. If you get the fault message instead it's either the module or short in module harness.

Check https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...enance-246865/ for the workshop manual on the EPB

The issue with mine was a battery that didn't have enough charge. Took it to AutoZone, got it fully charged (overnight), and put it back in. I got the message, applied the break AND the parking break and the message went away, never to return. So, yeah, just ensure that battery is charged all the way. If it's older, even if the car cranks with no issues, I'd get a new one. My car turned over without any issue, but the darned parking break would not disengage at all. Like I said, it wasn't until I had the batter checked and charged to it's fullest that everything was able to correct itself. That, or the Jaguar goblin decided to move on to someone else's car ...

[QUOTE = FreeWifi; 2448504]モジュールに関する限り、C2C39403、C2C36124、C2C30727 XR851911 4R83-2c496-BG、4R83-2C496-BE 4R83-2C496-BH4R83-2C496-BFはXJR2005-2008で動作します。

had bought and installed an EPB with the model number BJ. Is there any possibility that this is the reason why it does not work? I have a new external battery installed, and it is producing almost 13V.

By the way, the original one is from BH.

The module "BJ" will work for your 07 XJR. Either you have a bad module (it happens if buying used) or a short in the harness. I believe in the workshop manual you can find from the link I posted earlier outlines the pins in the harness connection to test if you have a short.

I bought a new module and tried it, but the symptoms did not change. I didn't know which workshop manual to check the harness in case I was looking in the wrong place. Which line should I check for this symptom? I suspect that the two harnesses that CAN communicate with each other are causing the ignition status error.

I hope you will let me know if there is anything else I need to do.
