Default parking/storing my XJ for 6 months

Hello,
I'm parking my 2009 XJ / X350 for about 6 months in California while I leave town to work, I'm covering it from the elements should I disconnect the Battery? any other things I should do before I wrap it up?

any suggestions I would be grateful.

Thank you.

Yes, disconnect it unless you can use a proper charging device (ctek etc).

I would disconnect negative battery terminal and make sure the parking brake is not engaged so it doesn't get stuck by accident

1.change oil/filter, fill fuel tank and add fuel stabilizer.
2.blow up tires to max rated pressure (on sidewall), chock the wheels and ensure parking brake is released.
3.I would remove battery and store in a cool place on a battery maintainer. if it is a wet battery check acid level in each cell and top up as required. if you do not have a battery maintainer fully charge before you leave.
4.clean interior and remove any food or similar rubbish

Putting it up on jack stands, taking weight off of the tires, and suspension

Disconnecting the battery is not enough. It is unlikely to be fully charged even after driving, it needs fully charging via a charger, and likely at intervals thereafter (due to self-discharge).

There's a trick to turning off the parking brake which normally comes on by default:
Turn off automatic parking brake - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

My brother normally trusts me to drive his car(s) once a month when he goes AWOL. Well, so far anyway.

And outside? I know it's California but really?
I keep my car under a cover (since I don't use it often), but it's a soft-cloth breathable cover not designed for outside (it's in a carport). In spite of aluminium, I understand cosmetic corrosion is possible if things get too sweaty down there.

In CA, the problem is the sun. Temps in Nor Cal can hit 100+. UV is very hard on paint, interiors (especially wood) and convertible tops. Didn't Jag have problems w/ early 2000's lacquer coat failing?
