The OBD II system has a number of Readiness Monitors, or I/M Monitors, which monitor various aspects of the emission control system. The P1111 only sets when all the I/M monitors have been checked and are OK. Some monitors are continuous and some are intermittent, ie they are only tested when specific conditions are met.
If your vehicle has been operated in such a way that some conditions have not yet been tested you will not have P1111 set.
You can check which I/M monitors have not been completed by using a scan tool which shows I/M monitor status. I use an inexpensive Autel AL 419 but there are many others.
If you can determine which monitors are not complete, then check the drive cycle requirements for those monitors, you can adjust your driving style to meet the drive cycle requirements and thus hasten the setting of P1111 code.

Emission test failed, leak detected, found another page on my Launch reader. Had checked the entire list long before now with a pass on everything, but a second page with an emissions check, gave me this result. If there's an emission leak, why isn't the car turning the light on????
OBD will not necessarily turn on the SEL. There will be a pending code (I'd you have a decent scanner) which is it? P0455?

Scanner is a Launch Creader VII+. Everything checks out as pass, except emissions, & that only says failed leak detected. No check engine light thank goodness, but the pending 1000 code appears to have found a home. Car has always ran well, but after chasing the po101 code for a year off & on, mileage has only gotten better. Spark plugs, intake manifold gaskets, all of them, filters, fluids, motor, as well as trans, car is now getting 30 m p g on the highway or maybe a little better, if you use the cruse control & take it easy, can't complain about that. The tailpipe e check performed before any work done was done, car
passed with excellent readings, but have heard some states will not do tailpipe test anymore, and if you don't pass the reader that plugs in you fail period, not good.

It sounds like your car was mad at you for not fixing it sooner! Seriously, though, the manual gives a list of conditions you have to meet while driving to clear each of the emissions tests. Some have to do with acceleration rates, others with engine temp, and even others with length of idling. If you only do one type of driving with your car you may never meet some of the test parameters.
I once had a bad tank of gas in my Jag. I spent over $1000 trying to track an issue...that it turned out was not the car's fault, just the bad gas causing the faults. But, as I was diagnosing it I kept a print out of the manual list of parameters and could clear the P1111 in about 15 minutes. The hardest part is waiting for the car to be stone cold to start the routine.

Was considering the possibility the big cat was having a temper tantrum for me taking so long to finally figure out what all the issues of the 101 code were. Every thing done, helped the gas mileage, but it had the issue before i bought the car. Someone had tried to fix it before, with the two metal intake manifold gaskets, but no luck. Broke a couple connectors in the process, gave up, & sold it.
