I picked up my vehicle from the dealer's service to replace a front end air spring (another story all together , part being sent from UK) and upon my drive home I attempted to make a phone call. As I pressed the Phone button, I received a white screen instead of my usual number pad that read: PHONE NOT FITTED -



I've never had problems in the past with the phone. All other electrical equipment is working fine including the navigation system. What might be causing this problem? If the battery was disconnected or the computer worked on during the service visit, might this have an impact on this problem? Would a computer reboot be necessary? If so, would this have to be done by the dealer or is there a way to reboot the system myself. The vehicle is a 2008 XJ.

 

I get that sometimes if my phone didn't connect BT-wise correctly. Turn off BT on your phone, then back on, and see if it goes back to normal.

 

That's the message you get if the car doesn't recognize the PSE module or if it doesn't have one. Try disconnecting the battery for a minute and see if it goes back to normal. (You'll have to retrain your windows after the battery disconnect.)

 

Wait, my original post wasn't accurate, I was thinking of a 'not connected' message on the phone display screen...disregard my previous statement.
