Default Pink Head Light

Yesterday, after accidently leaving my headlights on for about 30 minutes after I shut the car down, the next time I started the car, my driver's side HID headlight turned pinkish in color.

Could this mean that it's time to replace? Or could there be another issue?

Thanks! I'll have both replaced as soon as I get back from this work trip.

I stopped by the Jaguar Repair shop in Ft Lauderdale (Pompano Beach) and he said that it's the ballast. Having it replaced in the morning for $100.

Is the light turning a pinkish color more than likely a sign of a ballast failure or could it be a bulb?

It was the ballast failing and not getting enough voltage to the bulb.

They replaced it in 10 minutes. The part was $89 and the labor was $20.

Noticed my 08 is doing the same , passenger side

I went to an independent Jaguar repair shop. He drove over to the dealership and got the part. He didn't charge me any markup.

That seems like bulb pricing not ballast. I cant find a ballast for under $140 never mind dealer part and i have read the front bumper cones off to do the ballast

I ordered 2 new bulbs, im hoping a new bulb will fix mine

He mentioned something about a top ballast and a bottom ballast. This was the top one he did from under the hood/bonnet.

Had same issue, bulb went out soon thereafter. Replaced both with cheap ones from amazon. No problems since. 04XJR HID
