Default Please help identify this...

Hello experts,

what is this outlined in blue ?

It is actually removed and kept to take a pic. Can anyone help identify what is this and what is its purpose ? It seems to be made just like a PVC pipes and is hard. The right end connects to the L elbow (can be seen just on its right) and other left end is just kept covered (not sealed or air tight) with a loose hose. The other side of this loose hose goes in the connector just below it in the pic (circled red).

Please help what is the purpose of this pipe ? And what indicators can we get to understand if this needs to be replaced or not ? Is it in any way connected or related to any kind of brake problems (big or small) ?

I actually have a brake issue that says 31% brake imbalance on front axle, and the mechs have told that this pipe needs to be replace to know/identify what could be wrong with the brakes. The brakes are all new, car hardly driven for ~6-7k kms and changing and discs polished. So i wanted to understand any relation between the two issues.

thanks.

It's a crankcase breather hose from lh valve cover to the intake manifold. has to be properly connected otherwise it causes leak air issues.

no relations to your brake problems. that is most likely a stuck caliper.

Fritz is correct here. The connector on the valve cover may be a PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve and feed back into the intake system. Left unconnected it would most likely cause a lean condition as you are introducing fresh air into the intake beyond the MAF/IAC etc.. It should be reconnected properly.

I managed to get a hose that fits well and connects the left side to the red circle. But am not sure if it should be sealed with a clamp or a jubilee, as I have not seen its original fitting. Please advice if it should be. I did the OBD reading of all the sensors and got the values as in images attached. FYI, the readings are all the same before and after fitting the hose of a proper internal dia size (17mm). Please advice/comments if all OK or what else to check or change.

Thanks.

This OBD11 reading does not make sense?
The engine temp is 89 Degrees, yet Bank 1 is Open Loop due to insufficient temp, Bank 2 is Open Loop due to engine load? the only fuel trim showing is Bank 2 Long Term (why it is showing any fuel trims at all when in Open Loop I do not understand). Finally, (for me) the Intake Manifold Absolute Pressure is way too high...My V8 is at about 45k kPa? Please could someone help with any comments?

I noticed that when the car is moving then the Bank 2 Long term also changes to 0. But the moment car speed is < 10-20kmh it just jumps to 4.69% and is constant. previously, it was constant at 2.34%. (don't know why this change).
Please experts, help sort this.

Guys ( and Gals); is this an oxygen sensor failure? A temp sensor failure?

Please see post #4

Please help!
