I had my reflash done on the X350 about 5 years ago and it was around £90 or so at my main dealer

I went to an independent Jag outfit here in Austin and he charged me 1 hr of labor which cost me $100. I now have my own IDS/SDD software setup and can do it on a whim

These reflashes arise from service experience with the ZF gearboxes, plus customer complaints. If it occurs during warranty then the customer pays nothing, but after that the labour is charged, although the revised software is free.

I sometimes get the bump between one and two but it's quite intermittent sometimes with several days in between. (feels like it needs to be let of its leash!) It's an 04 xj8 with 53k mls. not sure if it needs a reflash or fluid change? What will be the next symptom to show up?

Also there was a recent thread i think (which I cant seem to locate) entitled something like "dangers asscociated with reflashing the transmission" Anyone recall what that was about?
