Power steering leak
Good job again!
And a double thanks for posting back. This is the real value of this forum.
People doing the repairs on their own and reporting back with what they ran into.
No matter how good my directions are (or even Jaguar's!) we just can't cover all the details.

I was reading your thread on the power steering issue and wondered how did you get the engine raised without dropping the steering rack as most post indicate that when the engine in that that car is raised to access the ac compressor (as you did) requires the steering rack to be dropped. Were you really able to accomplish this without doing so and not causing any issues. Im about to remove my ac compressor on the same type car and dont want to remove any part that is not necessary. Thats my only reason for asking this question concerning the steering rack.

Hey BigCatt, so you dont actually have to remove the steering rack at all to get to the power steering pump or compressor. Instead, you just have to loosen the two motor mount bolts. the drivers side motor mount bolt should be removed completely. the passenger side should only be loosened a tiny tiny bit. Youre only loosening the passenger side mount for good measure to ensure you dont cause damage to it when you jack the engine up on the drivers side. Once the mount is loose on the drivers side, you can now proceed to jack the engine up on that side and you will get plenty of clearance to remove the ac compressor and ultimately the power steering pump if necessary. just a note, the ac compressor needs to be removed first to gain access to the power steering pump and i am not sure if the rack needs to be removed to take out the compressor as i never needed to take mine out, only the pump.
You got it BigCatt! This has been my favorite car forum to date. I have a 1968 volvo p1800 and the forum on swedespeed is no where near as welcoming or helpful as this one has been for the past several years! And just so you know, the thank you button is on the bottom right of every post that people put up
