Question Purge Valve location

I have as long as I have owned the car had vacuum leak symptoms which has gotten worse. After filling up gas lately I have a very hard time starting right after - like it is running rich. After being garaged for some days it will start but be running weird initially - if I drive it every day - no problem. I believe it is the purge valve that is not closing or does not close completely. Is the purge valve located under the left fender? - anything to look out for?

Thanks
Martin

Default Purge valve loction

Yes it is located in the back section of the left front fender according to Alldata. You will need to remove the wheel and inner fender well. Do you have any codes? I would think that a faulty valve would set a code. It maybe something else like a leaking injector or pressure regulator if they have one.

Thanks gdcont. No codes at all. All injectors has been checked recently by dealer -all ok. I agree it should set a code, but when I had a faulty temperature sensor and the temperature went erratic there were no codes either. When a shop forgot to put my oil cap back after a oil change and the car smoked like 20 diesel trucks there were no codes either. From similar experience with other cars I can deduct that it is only certain events that will set a code - very unfortunate when mechanics now a days relies 99% on there scan tool . Dealer has confirmed that something is not right but pretends now that it is fixed after the injectors was cleaned and inspection - they don't now what to do. Since it is hard to start after being filled up I believe I have found what has been causing the vacuum leak - and it is a relative cheap part - though difficult to get to.
