Quick Help! Removing front air strut; what size is the Torx bolt?
Bottom of the strut and the torx bolt.
Folks, I'm replacing my front struts with remanufactured ones (fingers crossed they are the problem). All ready to pull the old ones out, but the bolt that holds the bottom of the strut is a Torx bolt. It's bigger than T45 (I tried mine and it 'fits' but is loose; I'm pretty sure I'd strip it with any load so pretty sure it is too small). It's too late now (stores are closed), so will go down first thing in the morning to get the correct one. However, I'm afraid that a T50 might be too large (I understand there are T47 but they are not in standard sets and not everyone has them). Does anyone know what size it is before I buy the wrong size? Yes, I can buy multiple, I'd just like the correct size (Harbor Freight has a set that includes 47, 50, 55, but already have a set up to 45). I did some searches on the forum, and although someone somewhere probably listed the size, I haven't been able to find it.
Thanks in advance!
Gordon
