Default Re-torque intake manifold bolts

HI: I searched in vain for anything about this topic so asking everyone. I saw the smoke test myself and the interface between the #1 (front RH) intake to head leaks. The shop who did this tells me this is cause of lean codes and CEL. Seems logical to me but they want to R&R the manifold and put new gaskets on. Then they cautioned that if manifold is cracked or warped, gaskets will not fix it. New one is $1500 while "guaranteed" ebay ones are $125. If I could learn the torque wrench setting, I might be inclined to reseat those big bolts to prescribed number and see what happens. Am I the only person wondering this or has anyone tried it already and succeeded or failed? The car has 131K on it and had also sprung vacuum leak at EGR. And I do mean the actual EGR itself, not the interface to the intake. My fuel trims are better than I have ever seen them with new EGR but still drift to the rich at low Rs. I assume this is due to O2 sensors telling ECU to push more gas to get right stoichiometry. Thank you.

This is probably what you're looking for, from pg 569 of the Powertrain section of the Workshop Manual.

Go here, scroll down to Workshop Manual and download all 6 PDFs, it's mandatory. Even if you don't touch a wrench, it's better to have an idea of what the procedures are.

If the manifold is removed to install new gaskets, the return hoses to the EGR/throttle body should also be replaced.
