C V boots, keep the grease in, & dirt out, they are VERY important!!!!!
On all the cars i have replaced them, all were front wheel drive.
Wrapping in plastic, with a tie wrap on each end might work short term.
Replacement is not all that difficult after all the parts are removed.
The hub assembly removal, could well prove to be the hardest part of the job.
I have seen c v boots sold, but never tried them
The joints on any cars i had were worn, had some play in them, with over a hundred thousand miles.
How long till you part company with the car?
The wrapping in plastic wrap might work out for you.

Thanks Wingrider,
You are right and I kinda knew they were important. Especially when you live on the edge of a Desert!
I am going to have to get a UAE 'mechanic' to drop my Transmission out because I have a main seal leaking and I don't fancy the job myself on Axle Stands?
I'll get him to look at those Boots while he has her?
If he wants too much, I may well do as you suggest until I want to afford to do better!
Keep well....

You can buy split ones which avoids dismantling.

Yes I know yours are split already lol

They come with cable ties to close them I think.

Might give you peace of mind temporarily.

Thanks Meirion1 & Wingrider,

Looks like a good solution for the time being:
