Default Replace "standard" console w/touchscreen?

I have a 2004 XJ8, with "standard" console radio and enviro controls. I was wondering if the touchscreen console was a "drop-in" replacement, if NAV was not wanted/needed? Will everything plug in and "just work"? Is there anything else that would need to be added to make the enviro and radio work? I can live without the NAV (I have a GPS). Would I have to take the car to the dealer to have the car reprogrammed to know the touchscreen was installed?

Thanks, Dogs. I've read that thread (and the threads it refers to). Need to reread and focus on if it works without NAV.
