Default Replacement rain sensor gel pad

Hi all. Does anyone know what shape/size rain sensor gel pad I need for my 2003 XJR please? I've bought a new sensor, and whist there are a few websites that sell aftermarket pads and adhesive, they are all shapes and sizes, and I don't know what to buy from where...

Did you buy an original Jaguar sensor? If yes, this should already have a pad included. At least it was like this about 1 year ago when I got a new windscreen and a new rain sensor for my car.

Apart from this, I can have a look at the old sensor and take some measuremnts.

Best regards,

Thomas

Hi Thomas. Yes, I paid an extortionate price for an original one (awaiting delivery). I didn't realise it came with the pad, but that makes perfect sense on reflection! Once again, your knowledge is much appreciated, and once again, I look like a total idiot

From when I replaced my windshield, I believe you just need to make sure it covers the air gap between the glass and the sensor.

I re-used my old sensor and when I picked up my glass from the local glass shop, the guy was super helpful and threw in a few gel packs that were close in size. I just double-stacked two together and just made sure that there was no dust/grit between them and carefully pressed my old sensor back in.
