Default Ride height sensor question

To replace the rear ride sensors is it necessary to remove the trunk lining? The reason I ask is that we have been having problems with the ride height the sensors were replaced and now one of the fasteners in the trunk is broken. We're becoming somewhat disillusioned with the warranty people.

Yes it is, and the 'buttons' that hold down the trunk coverings are easily replaced at NAPA nor other well stocked parts house. They're just large plastic push pins with a barbed shank that locks them in place. They can be very hatrd to get out and sometimes they break while doing so.

I haven't done this job, nut see no reason to remove the lining to change the sensor, i believe the plug is external.

looking at JTIS, looks like all you have to remove is the tire to get access to it
