Roof Console Parking Sensor Switch Repair

Roof Console Parking Sensor Switch Repair
I have a re-occurring fault with the parking sensor cancel switch in the overhead console. I'm guessing the switch has failed from over use due to continued faults with the parking sensors. I've got rid of all the faults with the sensors but now it seems that the switch is goosed.
I also have the rear blind but no sun roof and its proving impossible to find a used console with the right switch combination in the right colour.
I have the console out of the car to see if I can repair the switch and the black plastic housing which holds the switches appears to be held in place with plastic melted rivet things.
Has anybody got experience of pulling this thing apart and repairing or replacing the parking sensor switch?

If the switch has given up the ghost then try and source a replacement overhead console w/ the rear aid switch then extract it and install it in yours.

Thanks for the offer. I need one without a sunroof and with the combined parking/rear blind switch.
Yes I think you're right, the inside of the switch is likely to be tiny bits and pieces
I'll keep a look out on ebay for a suitable unit

Park sensor switch replaced
So I found a second hand console on Ebay with the combined parking sensor disable/rear blind switch.
It was the wrong colour unfortunately.
So I disassembled and transferred the guts of the cream coloured one I bought to my grey one.
The problem I had was that the parking sensor disable switch was faulty.
So this is the unit with the intruder sensor unit removed and the four inner plastic melted rivets drilled out allowing removal of the outer black plastic covering the circuit board. When drilling out the rivets drill wide and shallow to remove the heads and leave some plastic behind to take some self tapping screws when reassembling.
So removing the plastic cover reveals the circuit board which can be lifted off;
The underside of the circuit board has all the micro switches soldered onto it. It looks like there's one board for all as it has switches for all the optional accessories, not just the ones for the buttons on the carcus. So if one of your micro switches has failed, any roof console is likely to have a circuit board that will do;
Remove the circuit board and this is whats left. I transferred the circuit board and this switch pad over to my grey carcus and put it all back together, the black plastic cover held on with some self tappers instead of the melted rivets;

Yes all working perfectly now. No faults on the module for the switch.
I can use my parking sensors again without them randomly emitting a continuous beep. The parking sensor disable switch now has a much more positive action, before it was very mushy when you pressed it.
