Default SC Whine

I'm begining to think there is something wrong with my SC. I have never heard any whine! I would think that I would when I wind her up. I have narowed it down to possible issues.
1) I'm old and deaf
2) The prior owner gutted the SC and sold the parts (empty box)
3) The bearings are soo shot. (nothing left to whine).
4) Exhaust is louder than SC
5) Am one of the few with a really quiet SC. Is there such a thing.
Any thoughts?
And I allready know that if I drop in a twnsc, this issue would go away, and my wife would have something complain about while yelling over the sound of a loud and $$$ SC.

I've never heard the famous whine either.

Had to spank a few vehicles last trip, so I
know I was into the loud pedal enough
to exercise the engine.

Nothing but burbly exhaust and chastened
drivers. Especially the Merc GLK that thought
pushing into my lane at the last minute was
going to be okay. Not.

I could faintly hear my whine at very high revs before. I've since picked up a qwiketz elbow for a forum member and installed it and now I can hear the whine!

Have you tried listening without the cover in place?

Before upgrading the upper pulley I could always hear a whine that increased with speed while accelerating hard without the cover in place.

Since the upgrade with the cover in place it sounds about the same as before without the cover.

I am 65 and my hearing is not the best!

Put a Caldoofy inlet tube on it. You will hear it whine then.

I have to take back my observations. Today I wound her up hard and heard the whine a bit. I assume the B'mer 7 series heard it too as I blew him off the road! I'm sure there was some whining from the B'mer, but coming from the drivers seat.
Some whining in life is not all that bad.
