Default Seat module issue

Hello everyone newby here my name is Charles I’m the continued owner of a 2008 xj and was wondering about the drivers seat module for that year.
it has memory positions and unlike the passenger side it no longer moves at all.
The manual seat controls click and you can here a second click under the seat a couple of seconds after but absolutely no movement at all.
the lumbar pumps up and releases no problem.
I have checked fuses etc.

Will the passenger module work on the drivers side of this year car?
Also I wondered should I purchase a new module would it need to be programmed in some special way?
Thank you all for some help Charles

Is it just the "Auto" functions regarding memory that do not work? That is to say do the manual buttons control everything as they are supposed to? The seat just does not slide back and forth when the vehicle is started and shut down as it should?

My passenger seat module no longer works, so I'm interested in any info I can get. There are units for sale on ebay, and they look fairly simple to install. But I don't know the answer to your question.

My research leads me to believe you can swap modules. (I am hoping yours is similar to the 2004) Also, if you go online you can find places that will rebuild the modules for a reasonable price. (When you pull the module out it may even be a Ford item.) I found a lot of information regarding problems with seat modules and they often have problems very much like you describe. I would try the swap. You are not out anything and I did not find any information that would indicate you could damage anything by swapping modules. At least then you might find out if it fixes the problem..
