Default Which Size Front Rotors 2001 XJ8?

Dear Jag Peoples,

I need to buy as set of rotor and pads for 2001 XJ8 front brakes ASAP but the supplier I use says there are two sizes 305 and 325 mm Rotors and I need to measure the rotors to get the correct ones. Does this sound correct? Or is the another way to get the info? Isnt the badly worn rotor going to be a differnt size than what it originally was to begin with?

Thanks

Jack P.

Your parts dealer is referring to the disc diameter, not the thickness. Every disc has a thickness when new, and a minimum thickness for when it should be replaced after the pads have worn it. I think the supercharged models had larger diameter discs, but the thickness is the same.

However, main point is that as a 2001 car, you're in the wrong forum. Try posting in the X308 forum, the correct one for your car.

Both my Jags have 305, I believe the 325 is the big Brembo brake package, also known as the R1. Pull the wheel of and measure across the rotor with a tape measure.

305mm = 12 inches, 325= 12 3/4.
