Default Slipping transmission 2005 XJ8 VP

Hi All,
I have a 2005 Jaguar XJ8 Vanden Plas with 145,000 miles that had no transmission issues until the other morning. As it went to shift into second gear the rpms rev'd up and slipped out of gear. I called my mechanic and he recommended a transmission specialist he trusts to look at it. I have read some posts here that talk about computer flashing and draining and flushing fluid. Not sure if this will solve the problem and I may be looking at replacing the transmission. Searching for a used replacement there is a option to choose:
AT, supercharged option
AT, w/o supercharged option; from VIN G33566
AT, w/o supercharged option; thru VIN G33565

The Car is not supercharged and my VIN ends G36719 so I would choose the second option. Can anyone expand on the difference or change in the transmission from this VIN # onward? Or any suggestions on sourcing a transmission. Car-parts.com is where I was searching.
Thanks I appreciate any helpful suggestions.

Check the shifter cable connection on the transmission. They some times come loose and it may have thought you shifted from drive to neutral. I doubt it is a major transmission failure.
