We all know about the aluminium corrosion issues with our cars, but other cars suffer corrosion too, and it can be a lot worse.

Today I went to a Mazda dealer in Stoke-on-Trent to look at the MX5s (US=Miata), they had in. A very nice sports car, and they have a brilliant reputation in the UK for reliability. However, a detailed check revealed serious rear wheel arch corrosion was starting around the lip. Attention would be needed very soon to stop it creeping ever onward.

This was a 2004 car on 42k miles.

 

Wow, that is gorgeous, and I'm not an xk guy. Why the change?
