Squeeky Steering Wheel on 04 XJ8

Anyone have any idea why my steering wheel started making a squeeking noise. It sounds like rubber on rubber when turning the wheel. I've moved the tilt and telescopic and it doesn't help.....Please help..it's pretty irritating and I love this car... Doc

I heard there was a jaguar steering fluid additive that corrects similar noise. It was an s-type thread, but maybe worth a call to the service area at the dealer.

That happened to my 04 S-Type after a couple years of driving. The dealer fixed it under warranty. Dealer said that there was a bulletin out on it.

It is cured by the addition of an aditive which comes in a small bottle, just a few ounces.
It is added when the power steering fluid reaches a certain temperature.
It cured mine after I bought a bottle from my Jag dealer.
The noise comes from the steering rack by the way.
