Smile Success!

Well after taking my new 04 XJR to 2 mechanics to fix the air suspension. And having them tell me "Are you kidding?! a Jaguar? no way, wayy too complicated!" my dad and i had the old shock out and new one in in under 2 hours. And now she rides like silk! I cant believe that 2 hobbiests with Harbor Freight tools, 2 jack stands, and guess work could do a job that certified mechanics refused to do... Now i just have to see why my trans is giving me issues and i'll have a $17,000 car for 10 grand! haha

That sounds great! Can you pass along the details on the new shocks...

Sure, the shocks were the sports shocks from Arnott. JAGUAR Air Suspension Parts - XJ Series 2004-2010 XJ Series they work great, have a lifetime warranty apparently. If you want the actual process it was kind of like changing any shock i've ever changed before haha. A little different, but no harder.

Default Arnott shocks

I just replaced the air compressor on my 2004 Xj8 and had similar sucess! I had something missing from my usual routine tho, no dad to help. He passed in May...@94 Something to be said about the powers of "dad" Did you examine the old shock? Bladder? Glad your ride is fixed

Good job guys , I appreciate the way you solved the problem . Kudos to other mechanic guys as well . Because they could accept the car and try to profit a couple of bucks from a high end car but they refused it because of its complexity
