I’m in process of changing my MAP sensor inconveniently located at the back of the engine on my ‘05 Super V8. I noticed a tube at the back of the throttle body housing (see pix). Is there supposed to be a hose attached or is it open to atmosphere? Purpose? Thx much.

 

There should definitely be a hose attached. If I remember correctly, it's where the crankcase breather hose goes, this one:


Part no. AJ82705, please be aware that in the Jaguar parts catalogue the picture looks totally different.

On the other side, it is attached to this part circled in red:
