Th funny things one finds out
I washed the car yesterday, then just to finish off, dusted the interior and the dash and instruments. All this time the ignition was off, the ignition key was not even inserted.
Yesterday I went to start the car in the evening, and straightaway got the message "DSC not available". Puzzled, I looked at the DSC switch on the console, and no light was illuminated. So I pressed it and got "DSC Off", then pressed again, and got "DSC on" and thought nothing more of it.
This morning, tired of my CD I pressed the radio button , but instead of my usual classical music channel BBC Radio 3, up comes a pop channel on medium wave, not FM. Then I thought about my dusting, and clearly I had pressed various switches as I dusted, although the car was switched off, but it seems to have reacted to my dusting although radio was not on and the screen remained blank.
So it seems even if the ignition key is not inserted, and the car is "off", there is still power to these switches and any presses of them are actioned as soon as one starts the car !
Anybody else had this ? It could explain a few puzzling events.
