Throttle Body Related Question XJR 2004
The plastic tube that goes into the TB. What is the part called that holds it in. Appears mine is rather lose. Doing some work to my "spare" xjr due to a bad TPS and figured id change the valley hose and well....You know how that goes....
Also. I have a used factory TPS and bought a new one off of Ebay as they now offer them. Anyone have experience with the aftermarket TPS? Last thing Id want to do is put it back together and have the same issue!
Thanks much
Damon

If you're speaking of the brass fitting the brake booster vacuum pipe inserts into the pn is C2S15816.
The brass cylinder is pressed into the throttle body to SC inlet elbow on the EGR side. The brass piece is ever so slightly tapered and has a shoulder to limit how far it can be pressed in. There is an O-ring in the innermost portion (the end of the fitting first inserted) that provides the airtight seal to the tube. There is a plastic collet that inserts into the brass piece that provided the mechanical grip when the brake booster tube is inserted. To remove the tube press the collet into the brass piece and then pull the tube out. If you just try to pull the tube out it pulls the collet out tightening the grip on the tube.
If by chance you should damage the tube getting it out (I know this by experience) the pn is AJ84256.

If that is your problem you would be FAR better off to completely eliminate that fitting. It's simple and cheap to swap it for a $6 brass fitting without the O-ring which will get hard and cause a vacuum leak again!
Take a look if your interested. Not sure this is your problem or not?
I went thru this on my old 2005 STR.

That's the part and I had ordered it already but wasn't sure. Same part was bad on my xkr years ago and I had replaced it but forgot what it was called. I also forgot what a pain it was removing this thing! Funny thing is car ran great,
