Got it in and noticed the connector the to throttle servo literally disintegrated when I unplugged it and it was cracked all the way around, getting new connector next, that may have been the issue all along I noticed when I unplugged it when car was running I go that EVERYTHING fault 5 mph crap again. WOW. Taking it for 60 minute test run to see if anything comes back.

The torx bots are a PIA, but I just went to True Value Hardware, matched the thread pitch and used allen head bolts. Easy change out. BTW, I ordered a new TPS from ebay and it was some made in China POS. Could not get it calibrated. Tolerances were WIDE...so I cleaned the original TPS wipers with electronic spray and actuated the wipers in the TPS a dozen or more times. Rinsed again with electronic cleaner and shot the wipers with a very light lube made for electronics. Mounted the clean TPS and started the claibration. Much better calibration process. But it is a real Denso unit. Idle in-gear is 650 RPM. Accelerates well. All that cleaning stuff can be found at Home Depot.

TPS and Idle adjustment
My cold start=1300RPM...idles down in about 30 seconds=800RPM...in gear=650-670 RPM.
Adjusting idle was done by loosening the (2) small bolts holding the TPS in place and slowly turn the TPS body until you are satisfied with the RPMs. I adjusted mine with engine at normal operating temperature. Patience is the key. And beer.

Now the magic question. How on earth did you get the bot in there to loosen/tighten the screws. I had to put studs and bolts in there and can BARELY get a wrench on it?

How did you get TB out? I had hell just getting the air tunnel intake to TB out that runs between inter-cooler.
Have you seen any post on this procedure?

I'm going through same thing tonight. On XJR the throttle body at back of motor. Most post here are XJ8 where TB is at front of engine.

Once you remove the 4 bolts on each corner of the TB, you will also have to slide the 2 small coolant hoses off (secured with spring clamps). The clamps are tricky to get off, but easier if you have already removed the 4 bolts and are able to rotate or move the TB in a position that gives you easier access to them.
After the bolts and hoses come off, you should be able to pull out the TB (assuming you already disconnected the harnesses from the start).
