Default Touch up paint

Now that the weather is warming up I need to start looking at touching up a few nicks and need some advice on the latest touch up paint. I've read about the dab and wipe with leveler, and may be intrested if someone has had experience with it.

I had the same feeling last spring. I ordered the Jaguar touch-up paint pencil from my local dealership (part #C2A1051PEC - Black (Ebony) with the accompanying clear lacquer 'touch up paint pencil'. I was having the car detailed and the detail guy said not to bother with the touch up paint. I put off doing it, then was going on a road trip and wanted to hide the small stone chips on the doors, specifically on the plastic door guards. I experimented by waxing the car then using a black permanent fine tip marker to dab at the tiny paint chips. I had good results as the chips looked invisible from a couple of feet away, and there was no risk of paint blobs as the ink just dyed the white chip black. I knew this would wash off easily. Anyway, it worked for the fall road trip to NYC and looked good. It survived a couple of mild hand washes, then washed off during the winter and now looks the same as last spring with those small chips to the doors showing their white spots. Again I ponder if I should use the touch up paint I have from Jaguar an risk 3-D unsightly repair, or just use the marker again to dye the area temporarily for the summer months.

I've used their touchup on my 05 and it seems to do the job. To get the correct results, you of course have to use the clear coat also.
