I would be very interested in finding out other codes. It would be nice to be able to see tire pressure.

You would have to sensors in your wheels and Jaguar did not offer this option on these cars.

What do you mean? TPMS was standard in 2006+ I believe.

Found this at the UK Jaguar Forums site:
Jaguar Forum.co.uk • View topic - xj6 2003 touchscreen

The second post down says "917" is Diag PIN and "1971" is the Advanced Diag PIN. Didn't mention any other codes.

The car has no problem telling me I have a flat but nothing to show pressure. One would think that was doable?

I found another one....

With the radio on, press the am/fm button and the eject button at the same time. You will get a screen allowing you to turn RDS on or off.

For BMW we have software called PA soft that is identical to what BMW uses to trouble shoot & code BMW made cars. it's about $35.00 & well worth the money. I was able to custom my cars options to my liking including opening & closing the top with the key fob which isn't allowed on BMW's sold in america but is an option for overs seas BMW's.

From what I found doing a quick search on e-bay a similar software for Jaguar IDS is sold called VCM software, it doesn't come with a cable, that would have to be purchased seperatly & are easily found.

I can't wait to find my XJ!

I checked it out and there are a few suppliers & versions.

Is a scan tool required with the cable or would just a cable or bluetooth plug work?

Has anyone used this set-up on a Jaguar?

Tips?

I don't know what that guy is selling. Unless Jaguars setup is universally diffrent from every other car manufactor that sells cars in the united states all you need is an OBD2 cable with a standard connection on one end for the port under the dash of the car & the other end has to be a USB connection for the PC that you are running the software on.

This software takes the place of the generic code reader. It does that & more.

Well, I'll tell you what I'd like to find out!

How in the world can you allow destination entry on the GPS Nav when the car is in motion.

My wife gets tired of frantically tapping on the screen at stop lights trying to enter our destination before the screen greys out on the green. It doesn't help that the central processing unit acts like a 12hz 8086 from the '80s when you try to correct a mistake or backspace. Three lights later.... "Siri, directions to..."

So, for the sanity of my wife (or other passengers) entering GPS data on the go, is there a way to bypass this annoyance?

I've got the central unit that combines AC/Heat, Radio, Nav, etc.

I'm not in enough pain to replace all of that with the separate units.
