Unhappy Trunk closing/opening. . .

I am beginning to see some intermittant problems with the auto closing/opening feature of the trunk. It will sometimes not latch when the lid is closed then if you pull on it to see if it is closed the 'motor' (for the closing mechanism) operates. Other times the trunk will nto want to unlock using the key fob but will work off the dash switch. Other times neither will unlock.
Any ideas..?

I would scan for codes with SDD, possibly reflash the REM as well but don’t discount the battery may need replacong.

The REM that controls this seem to be one of the more sensitive modules to the battery and issues like this and key fobs are early indicators you need a new battery

Cheers

OK Thanks, I will look at changing the battery out in a few weeks and post fi there's a change.
I didn't even think of the car battery but if the key fob is also an indicator, it is something I will followup on. My remote takes a few seconds to unlock the doors, and I was thinking it was the remote battery. Never would have thought of the car battery...
