Default Turn signal issues

I've read several threads on the problem with front turn signals.
I replaced connector and bulb. Intermittent failure of right hand front continues. So I pulled out side marker light, soldered two wires and ran to signal light. Now it works, but failure warning still shows on dash since I cut existing wires. Any ideas on how to eliminate the warning light?

It would be a lot easier to help if we had some more info
Im not sure of the exact issue or what you have done.
You say you have soldered some wires but then say you cut them?

Can you let us know what you have done, and what you are now getting
I understand the original fault was one intermittent lamp, if this is not the case let us know the original fault.

The way they work is not that complex but not as simple switched system like most cars.

The stalk has a resistor network that produces a voltage for each switch and setting on the stalk.
This is connected to the IC (instrument cluster) via the clock spring.
The IC sends data to the FEM and REM (front/rear electronic module) via the SCP bus.
The FEM then operates the lamps for the front and the REM for the rear.

So long as those original wires that you cut show an open circuit you will continue with the warning.

I cut original wires to front signal lamp. Soldered two wires from side markers and ran to front signal light. Original problem was an intermittent signal light. Would work for a few days then stop for a week or so, then repeat. Tried new bulb and socket with no results. If I simply attach a load between original wires intermittent failure warning will continue. I assume. Open to any and all suggestions. Thanks in advance.

There is your problem

If you check the electrical diagram you will find each lamp is wired directly to the FEM/REM
Added to that the repeater and turn have different power sources

You need to remove the wires you added then repair the fault
If it is intermittent it will most likely be at a harness connector
Your only other option is to run a new wire from the FEM to the lamp
It wont be the power supply as its shared with the side marker

Thanks for the info. May I ask what a FEM/REM is? And where it would be located? I'm not very good at acronyms. Thanks.

If you re read my initial post it there but
FEM = Front Electronic module
REM = Rear Electronic module

FEM is located behind the kick panel near the bonnet release
REM is located in the boot opposite side to the DVD player

Id suggest you download and install JTIS which has all the service manuals and electrical diagrams in it.

Cheers

Default FEM location

May I assume that you are talking about a RH driver car for location by bonnet release? On passenger side of LH driver? I did download electrical guide and will start the process of troubleshooting tomorrow. How difficult is it to access the FEM? Thanks for your help 34by151.

The bonnet release is on the LHS irrespective of whether the car is LHD or RHD ... a source of great irritation to UK, RoI, NZ, AUS, JP etc owners

I was looking at engine control module which is on different sides depending on drivers side according to guide.
