Smile Tyre size 2003 xJ350 front and back are both diferant

I have the XJR Wheels Front being 245-40-19
Backs being 255-40-19

If Possible can any tell me if this is correct.
I find the ride is a bit hard and if i put 255-40-19
on the front to help with the drive.
Tyres set at 32 PSI all round.

XJR wheels are stunning to look at, giving the car an amazing look.
I have the sports package in silver but would like to know which way to turn.

At high speeds the car don't give me the confidence.
The 1st TIME I HAVE HAD AIR suspension.

When I took a closer look at the front left I found that I have a slow puncher,
the rim as a small hair line crack on the in side rim is this fixable ?

Thanks Matthew

I would say the wheel is scrap if it is cracked. Normal practice with Jaguar saloons is for all wheels and tyres to be the same size, but the sports cars can have different sizes front to rear.

Mathew when you run such low profile tyres at 32 psi its very easy to buckle the rims you should be running 40psi
I run 40 psi and the ride is beautiful with the air suspension it does take some getting used to how it rides
My wife had a Citroen C5 couple years ago with hydraulic suspension before this jag I swore it was the best suspension in the world after owning this jag I am not so sure now

My brother works for a large tyre shop for 20 years and he said you cant believe how many cars come in with buckled rims from running 32psi with ultra low profile tyres a wheel repair shop can repair the rims if they are buckled

They recommend clients with low profile tyres run 40psi if they are anything over 65 profile 32 psi is fine if you want a soft ride get higher profile tyres

As for the different tyre sizes my car runs 245/40/19,s on the front and rear it runs 275/35/19,s
Use this calculator Visual Tyre Size Calculator | Kouki Tech to make sure your tyres are as close in diameter as possible modern cars with ABS brakes have problems with tyres not being the same circumference it makes the ABS have a problem

Thanks loads of information. I need to new front tires so I will keep the size of the front the same 245-40-19 I will fill to 40 psi.

I keep you posted as I do loads of karting on the weekends.
I some time like the jaguar to take corners with a little bit more confidant.

I agree the the car is amazing a great ride full of comfort is just when i have a made 5mins.

For the last 3 days i have been running the car on 40 psi I must agree it feels good lets hope it keep the fuel consumption down I have just had a thought what spare tyre.
my front tyres are different to my back so it opens the question what spare tyre do you have in the boot of your car.

Best Regards
