Unusual Intermittent Vibration
Good afternoon, I wonder if anyone has experienced something similar with their XJ 8. An intermittent vibration, similar to driving over a rough patch of tarmac, occurs at all speeds. Its through the steering and the chair. Its subtle but still apparent and annoying. I just bought the car and the previous owner had four new tyres fitted. The car is a 2009 model with only 12k miles on the clock and is in excellent condition otherwise. Any comments or suggestions most welcome.

What size are the wheels ? 20" with very low profile tyres are very unforgiving, and could give the symptoms you describe. Even my car with 18" ha a very hard ride because it has the Sport airsprings. If your car is an XJR it has the same Sport air springs.
Thanks Fraser
yes, 20" what is unusual though is that itt intermittent and at most speeds. Never came across anything like this. Having it checked out today so hopefully get to the bottom of it soon. Cheers, Paul

It could be your suspension air compressor.
It feels like I'm going over highway rumble strips.
If it happens daily, try pulling the air compressor fuse for a day.
If the noise is gone.....
