Updated nav map DVD sources?

I posted this on another thread, but I bought the $56 disc from iOffer and it works perfectly. Started the car, ejected the old disc, inserted the new, took it for a spin. Message tells you it's loading version xxx, don't turn off the ignition. Within 1 mile the Nav screen came up, new version and it works fantastically. I was skeptical, but took a chance and could not be more pleased. Wish every issue on these cars was so easily and inexpensively solved. May update the 07 XKR as well.

I just got the East Coast 2011-2012 NAV DVD from the iOffer vendor. It took ~10 minutes for it to update BIOS, and it now works fine in my 2007 XK.

The $56 disc from iOffer arrived and it works perfectly. As "luv2fly stated" I started the car, ejected the old disc and inserted the new disc. Message tells you it's "loading version xxx, don't turn off the ignition". Within 5 minutes the new version displayed my Home Location. Will try it out tomorrow.

Ordered my disc from the ioffer deal on the 7th, what a crap site really confusing. Had to open a google wallet account that I was not happy about, so completed transaction and so far nothing no contact and no disc! Went back into I offer transaction history and what no transaction listed but had a fraud alert call from my credit card asking if I had made a transaction in the correct amount. Sent e-mail to seller and no response, so do not know what is going on have I purchased or not? Ordered 2 discs one for the XJR and one for wife's XK. Will keep you informed on outcome.

I bought the latest disc from that guy on i offer for $61. I agree i Offer site is LOUSY, ditto the google wallet. Had all kinds of trouble paying and getting it shipped, The seller did respond and resolve the issues but he was slow. Did finally get the disc and am very pleased with it, loaded reasonably fast. I did notice when you go to menu on the nav unit it gives you driver options menu(as I recall) which includes having the folding mirrors automatically fold when car turned off, don't know if that was there before but it does not work. Funny place to have some vehicle settings, don't know what that has to do with navigation.

So total **** up! My transaction has been totally lost and no one knows what has happened. This is how identity fraud happens with lost info in the electronic world. Have cancelled my not wanted Google wallet account, cancelled my transaction with ioffer and won't use them again. Looks like I will be looking else where for discs. Feel a it sorry for the supplier as it was everyone else that messed up in the loop not him. I would be looking around for a better way to sell his product if I was him, he just lost $115 worth of business. If any one can point me in a different direction that would be great.

the ioffer seller is actually a very nice guy, he sent me an email explaining exactly what I was getting, and wanted to inform me that these were not OEM sealed discs. I got the impression he was tied to a dealer when he said they needed to provide discs for our vehicles, and this was their solution. I've dealt with DIY dvds on my xks system, and its really hit or miss with them, and if they do work, they don't last as long as the originals. However, with this disc, that is a very good copy, including the disc label...its not a home-made copy, my guess its a professional duplicate.

How long the disc lasts shouldn't be an issue. Make an .iso image of the disc and burn a copy. Once you have the disc image you can make as many copies as you like. I never use any original discs in my cars, including CD's. Archival copies of copyrighted material are legal, as long as you don't sell the copies, like the iOffer guy.

ioffer offers old DVD disc not current update
I also ordered the ioffer disc and installed it. I thought I had purchased the latest update as advertised on ioffer from TM. The latest update is 2012-2013 and is available from navteq.com. I bought the update in early March from TM on ioffer.com and brought this discrepancy to his attention. He said he would change the advertising on ioffer which has not been done.
