V139 JLR Mangoose SDD Pro
I use win7 32bit with SDD 139 from china, without problems.
64bit is always troublesome , especially when the software originates from the xp-age.
(nevertheless my china-supplier recommended xp.. which did not work for me.)
for the VM, i use virtualbox, but vmware should also do the job..

I bought a Mongoose Pro cable with 139 software froma Taiwan supplier suggested in a older post.
The Mongoose driver didn't load on my Win7 64 bit system. The vendor told me to use an XP OS. I tried. The driver loaded on the XP system but the SDD said the software won't load on this OS.
Any suggestions on solving this or where I can buy replacement software at a reasonable price that will actually load and work?? The total lack of documentation - such as system requirements - and then false solutions that don't work - is a real stumbling block for me. I'm not a computer expert.

Install and use Windows XP Mode in Windows 7
If you install the above and start an XP VM, Virtual machine, you can then install the drivers and then the SDD software.
The USB devices do need to be "active". This is set on the title bar when you start the XP Mode VM.
Not being a computer person though means that you may have to become one, but if you can fly, you can work this out.

get win7 32bit ... professional or ultimate is what I use.
install some win-addons like java or adobereader.
install SDD
set the mongoose to be forwarded to the virtual machine.
.. this works for me..

One question on topic, one off topic
1) Is there anyone send me app.war file for 138 file ? i have same communication issue when i try to go in to DTC's section.
2) Any one know in witch section i have to recode an used instrument cluster ?
I have an used one that have to be fitted on my 2.0D X-Type. I was check the sections in SDD 138 but i was not able to find recode functionality for replaced instrument cluster.
