Which variant 3.0 V6?
Hi, I am about to become a proud Jag owner again soon, an XJ6 X350 3.0SE. I am a bit confused though, I have been looking for service items etc to purchase, but when I enter the engine, I am often confronted with 2 variants, 238BP 175KW or 243HP 179KW?? How would I know which, does it make a difference to parts eg spark plugs I have determined areNGK TR6AP-13E but apparently not suitable for the 243HP version???!!! Please advise, thank you!!
Wikipedia lists the X350 V6 at 177kw, which is neither of your figures.
The XF(X250) V6 is listed at 175kw.
automobile-catalog says X350 175kw
ultimatespecs says X350 238PS (which is 175kw)
As far as I know there's only one 3.0V6 (supercharger aside). What's your source?
And congratulations, err Dad!
---------------
The AJ30 V6 is listed at 179kw for the S-Type, and 179kw for the XF but different torque. Holy smokes I wish they'd make up their mind.

Thanks for the reply! I think I found the figures several places, probably the compatible list on eBay, several insurance companies and parts stores. The lower figures seem to work better for compatability, but thats no use if there are differences!!!
