What could cause difficult starting, esp. as summer is fading? 2004 xj8, non supercharged. Very infrequent, highly baffling, and we were such good friends!

Has it happened enough times for you to notice any pattern? Warm car/ cool ambient, or like that? Could be a temp sensor or a faulty connection to one of them. Time consuming to track, but cheap and easy enough to do on your own. Sorry for your enmity (had to look that one up!).
