"12.29.44" is the number of the chapter in the workshop manual, nothing to do with the VIN.
When you read chapters in the manual, you will sometimes find references to other actions to do's to be done beforehand. Here's an example:
You see that the chapter has the number "12.13.18", and at the bottom of the page you see that first have to remove the air deflector, which is described in chapter "76.11.41" of the manual.
It has the diagram with parts numbered as per your screenshot; however, it doesn't have the names of the listed items. Is that because listed as "out of stock"?

Thanks & best,

I am sorry, but what do you mean with "...it doesn't have the names of the listed items"?
The parts are always named, and the part number is the last step you reach in the catalogue. If it is available, then you see the price instead of "out of stock".
VIN: G12607
I will send a screenshot. But what I'm seeing is the diagram with the parts numbered, but with no accompanying list of part names for the numbers shown in the diagram.
OK, I think that it relates to how you start the catalogue.
When you click on the link I sent you,you get this page and you click on the button circled in Red:
Then:
Then this button, my browser sometimes does not show the picture, so it look strange:
Now, you should have the following view:
And you can proceed with the following:
You see in the diagram which number you need, and you go to the right and the correct number, here no. 2 "Camshaft Cover gasket".
Now it can get confusing, because for each number you can have multiple options, sometimes more, sometimes less, sometimes only one. In most cases the picture or diagram will only be the one.
So, in this example, we go to "LH B-Bank", then to "4.2 litres supercharged", followed by the VIN.
Then you can see all part numbers that Jaguar had issued in time and that got superseded. Here the last number was the "AJ812402" that you mentioned and is now, unfortunately, not available at Jaguar anymore. But you can get the part at other suppliers.
Generally speaking, be aware that (at least in my opinion) the parts catalogue is not always set up logically. For example, all the engine cooling lines are distributed in various sections.
Goodness, Thomas! You are truly a scholar & a gentleman!!
I went to one of the dealer's sites and they have the camshaft gaskets for $63 a piece, with none of the accompanying pieces.
Many sites direct me to something and when I see if it will fit my vehicle it doesn't. AutohauzAZ has this:https://www.autohausaz.com/pn/EU-AJ812402; the right is similarly priced, but I was hoping to find a set with the gaskets plus the grommets.
I will pay the dealer price if I can't find a set that I can buy with confidence elsewhere. Amazon had both the MAP Sensor and the corresponding connector for a fraction of the cost of others & as best as I can tell, the parts were the same to the markings & numbers. Unfortunatly, they don't have the camshaft gaskets.
Funny, I had hoped to replace all the hoses and I haven't ordered the first one yet & I still haven't gotten a date from the welder!
In looking for Camshaft (Valve) cover gaskets for 2004 XJR Supercharged, I'm finding plenty of sources for gaskets up to the year 2003. I see 2004 4.2L Naturally aspirated.
Is there a difference in the camshaft gaskets for the 2004 naturally aspirated vs. the Supercharged?
Is it possible to make these gaskets? Probably would take less time than trying to find them.
