A ruler next to it may help.

Thanks, JagV8. I believe it has to do with the power steering reservoir. For the life of me, I can't see how it would attach. there is an impression around the hole that corresponds with the rubber grommets holding the PS Reservoir. The most curved end has an ever so slight upturn as though it shoud grasp something. I loosened the reservoir while working on camcover.

Hi Steve,

yes you are correct, it is connectd with the PS reservoir.

It actually is a kind of holder for the bonet release cable that passes behind the PS reservoir, and it gets fixed in a horizontal position, curving around the suspension dome, with the lower screw of the PS reservoir.

I have just tried to take some pictures, but it is a bit difficult. You can see the part lurking behind the PS reservoir, also the bonnet release cable.

In the following picture, I have tried to capture the "hook" of the part. The top is the PS reservoir, the bottom is the suspension dome. I have circled the hooked part in Red, you can see that it only generally keeps the bonnet release cable in place andis not a perfect fit.

By the way, I had the same problem as you and this was the only postion that I could find to make the part fit.

I hope that helps.

Best regards,

Thomas
