What does the second pair of headlight adjusters do? Pics provided.
I have read a fair amount of, if not conflicting, you could say differing info on our Headlights and methods to adjust them. Here is my issue, and I am hoping to get some clarity on this.
There are some eary cars that use the air suspension to level the car, and thus the headlights. They do so in a smart way, always leveling the rear of the car first, and then the front in an attempt to mitigate blinding oncoming drivers. My car, a 2007 Vanden Plas doesn't have any of this, nor does it appear to have any automated or motorized headlamp aiming mechanism. What it does have is a 6mm hex fitting that allows vertical adjustment of the low beam HID (previously called "Xenon") headlights. They work well, are bright, white and focused decently through a projector lens.
The low beam adjust is in the middle of the housing - The presumably High Beam adjust is over the high beam lenses- except it doesn't appear to do anything - is this a horizontal adjust, and mine are broken (both of them?) - I have spent a lot of time running the adjuster from one extreme to another - with virtually no notable effect. I will post a few pics of these when I get home from work today Low beams are perfect as far as aim. High beams seemed ok, but they do leak some light pointing almost straight up. Any thoughts, experiences, instructions etc. would be SO appreciated!!!
I tried same and only one adjuster works on both lenses. Other one does not seem to do anything (although I did turn it both directions for about an hour )
On my 2008 the inner adjuster moves both beams side to side and the outer ones move both lights up and down. I was looking for a way to adjust the high and low beams separately but they move in unison.
