Question What else to replace along with radiator?

Hi everyone,

My 2007 XJ8 (73,700 miles currently, purchased 2 months ago) sprang a leak in the radiator, localized with a cooling-system pressure test. My indy mechanic has ordered a replacement radiator as well as upper and lower radiator hoses and thermostat housing.

Anything else in this area of the bonnet that you folks would prophylactically replace, since he'll have this area taken apart? From my searches, it sounds like replacing the expansion tank is a good idea. What about hoses to the heater matrix or auxiliary water pump?

Thanks!

Those items all sound reasonable. But, I would not replace the expansion tank, I would spend $5 on a bronze nipple and repair the tank permanently. Otherwise you will have to do it again in about 50,000 miles. I am on my third and final tank on my XJ8L after the bronze nipple repair.
