Purchased a 2004 Vanden Plas but I'm funding out that ordering parts may require not always ordering for the V/Plas model.

An example would be the transmission kit I recently ordered for a Vanden Plas which came with an o-ring, serviceable filter and replaceable gasket which ended up being the incorrect part. Mine has the integral pan/filter which is what the XJ8 called for.

Three options I've seen so far are Vanden Plas, XJ8 and X350.

Your 2004 model is an X350, that is the chassis type. The previous model was the X308, the current model is the X351. It's just a means of identification.

VDP is a trim specification. Your VDP has the identical driveline to an XJ8, which was the lower specification trim.
